A message from Kristi:

I am honored to be re-elected to represent the wonderful people of my district. Thank you to every volunteer, voter, and neighbor who helped make this happen. This is what PEOPLE POWER looks like! Over the next two years, I look forward to continuing the fight for economic freedom, climate action, and bodily autonomy. I won’t be able to achieve these things in St. Paul without you. Please stay connected and take action to shape the future of our state. Thank you to to everyone in 58A. It is my honor to continue serving you in the State House of Representatives.

-Representative Kristi Pursell

I am proud to serve the people of Northfield, Dundas, Lonsdale, Webster and New Prague as the Minnesota House Representative for District 58A. I ran for re-election to continue to fight for the things Minnesotans like you and me need: access to affordable health care, housing, and high quality education.

I believe in democracy, a healthy world for future generations, and the basic decency of human beings. Please join us!

About Kristi

I'm proud of my strong Southern Minnesota roots. I was raised in Rochester, graduated from St. Olaf College, and am raising my two children in Northfield, my home for the last nine years.

As a community member and a leader, I've forged deep and authentic partnerships across our district. Professionally, I've served as Executive Director of Clean River Partners, an environmental non-profit organization focused on the Cannon River watershed and worked there for eight years. I have also been a leader within grassroots organizations working to put people at the center of our democracy, groups like the Land Stewardship Project, ISAIAH MN, and TakeAction MN. During my first term in the state legislature, I’ve been proud to allocate millions of dollars to protect and improve our environment, natural resources, and local farmers. In 2024 the Minnesota House implemented numerous initiatives to address the serious issue of nitrate in the drinking water for southeast Minnesotans which I made sure to put front and center this year, I’ve been proud to advocate for a people-centered healthcare system, allocate additional funding for housing infrastructure in greater Minnesota, and support our school districts as they implement the READ Act legislation we passed in 2023.

I have been proud to be a voice for rural Minnesotans in the DFL at the Capitol. For me, true leadership means partnering with community members, particularly those most impacted by the challenges we face, to create tangible solutions that ensure all Minnesotans thrive, no exceptions. When we come together, grounded in our values, we can build a resilient climate, an education system that fully supports students and educators, a strong democracy, and an affordable, accessible, high-quality healthcare system.

Good representation requires decision-making that is centered in community. This is why I believe in listening to EVERYONE, regardless of race, class, gender, political party, and zip code. I hope to hear from you.
